Questions

I'm a little upset. Like, 60 people viewed my blog yesterday and the only one who commented was my mom. ::sniff, sniff::
So today I am gonna ask a question, so you have to comment:

What is your favorite book?
movie?
board game?

Is anyone here?

Hello? HELLO?

(crickets chirping)

Just me, then.
My favorite book of all time, I couldn't narrow it down to 1, but Harry Potter, Eragon, and Peter and the Starcatchers are definitely the top 3 series.
Favorite movie.......Star Wars. Episode 2. Duh.
Favorite board game........who has a favorite board game? I don't. I guess if I had to pick one, I would pick Sorry, but I'm not really into board games since the only people to play with are my brothers, and they throw a tantrum when they lose.

Now it's your turn.....

  2. 1. The Time Travelers Wife.....read it when you're 20, you won't love it until then.
    2. hmmm, that's tough. today, I'l pick Dead Poet Society as my favorite movie, perhaps The Notebook
    3. SORRY!!!!! I used to play with my dad all the time!

  3. 1-Book, 'Till We Have Faces (I know, you didn't like it).
2-Movie, Casablanca or So I Married an Ax Murderer-depending on my mood.
    3-Board Game, Risk.

  4. It's kind of a high level game so the boys can't play. You're old enough and maybe we'll try playing with me, you and Dad. We'll have to put time limits on turns though. Dad has been known to take 30 minutes on his turn.

  5. You have to put favorite books in categories. Otherwise "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" is competing with "The Joy of Cooking."

But I guess my favorite (non-scripture) book of all time is "Year In, Year Out" by A.A. Milne (and why do the cursor arrows and escape jumps not work in this silly blog). I bought it for a quarter off the Salter's used book table in 1966, which has to be the all-time money's-worth purchase.

Movies have the same problem, but my favorite is "The Horse's Mouth."

Commenting on your choices, I know I gave you Starcatchers, and it is a lot of fun, but I would have thought that by now you would have become aware of its many defects and have upgraded your choice. But I appreciate your loyalty.

I will show up as anonymous here because I cannot figure out the technology, but I am, as always,

  6. Dad, you've read "The Joy of Cooking"?!

Book- "The Count of Monte Cristo" or possibly "Follow the River" or possibly "Frankenstein"

Movie- "Sliding Doors" or possibly "Pride and Prejudice" or possibly "Babe" (those sheep saying baaa-rammmm-eeewwwee never gets old...and don't even get me started on the singing mice- love, love, love them)

Game- Scrabble or Rook. I'm not very good at either one, but I really like to play.

  7. Oh yeah, Rook! But there's no board so it doesn't count (you're right about the arrows Dad). Scrabble also doesn't have a board, so I say you have to try again. But I'm not really in charge here.

We're totally getting The Joy of Cooking as part of the homeschool science ciriculum. Since we're doing cooking science and it comes SO highly recommended. (Or was that just and example?)

  9. Book? Are you kidding me? There's no way I can answer that!

Movie? Sliding doors? Pride and prejudice? Anything featuring Amelia Peabody! More more more...

Board game? I play a lot of scrabble (and yes, it has a board, your mother was thinking of boggle, which does not (unless you count the little letter holder thing.))
I used to like risk but I haven't played in a long time and I wasn't ever very good.

  10. And what do you mean only your mom commented?! I commented!!! And I did it yesterday.

  11. Thanks everybody, I got like double my usual comments! :) :) :)

  12. I played Risk one time in my life and won. I am currently the champion and I choose not to play again in a effort to remain so.

  13. Favorite book - Little Women
    Favorite movie - 1776
    Favorite board game - Scrabble

  14. Book: Speaker for the Dead. Life-altering stuff.

Movie: This is impossible, but I'll go with It's a Wonderful Life. (Star Wars Episode 2 is awful in the extreme, unless you meant Episode 5, Empire Strikes Back, which is quite good)

Board Game: Diplomacy, but it's close between that one and Ticket to Ride.

  15. And perhaps it is ungentlemanly of me to comment about this, but no post of mine has ever gotten more than 10 comments. I've been blogging for six years and have written over 40,000 words. This very morning I posted something that even I thought was good, but I topped out at 10 comments again. All very nice ones. But still.

You get more comments on almost every post than I have ever had. Be grateful.

  16. Wow that was so fun to read your comments! Way to bring the family together.

    Book-- Time Travellers Wife
    Movie-- Notting Hill
    Board Game-- Scrabble

SERIOUSLY, people? What is the point of blogging if nobody comments? If you can't think of anything to say about the post, THEN JUST SAY "HI"!

Have a nice day.
