I'm too lame to do cool April Fool's stuff.

So I didn't post yesterday.

Now I feel guilty, so I'm posting today. What should I blog about?

huh.

Hey, did I write about the Hunger Games yet?

OHMYGOSH!!! I love that book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It's set some 300 years in the future, after a big war destroyed the United states and became Panem, instead. Panem consists of one Capitol surrounded by twelve districts, each of which are forced to send one boy and one girl (from ages 12-18) to compete in the annual Hunger Games, a gladiator-style fight to the death on live TV. Only one person can survive- the winner.

Now if you know anything about me you know that I love books where lots of people die, preferably with lots of blood and gore everywhere. So this book was right up my street.

It's told through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen, who steps up to take her sister's place when she is chosen to compete in the Hunger Games. Now she has to fight for her life against twenty-three people who want to kill her.

Very, dramatically told, VERY bloody, the Hunger Games is told in the first person, present tense, which I thought would drive me crazy, but didn't. See, when it's told in past tense, you know she survived whatever life-or-death encounter she's in. Put you have no idea in present tense who will live or who will die.

My friend is lending me the sequel, Catching Fire, later today.... I can't wait!!!*

And now the latest installment of Random Crap Pictures taken by my crazy brothers:
I love my brothers. :)

*EDIT: I wrote this yesterday, and by the time I came back to publish it (a day later), Catching Fire had been lent to me, and I stayed up reading it until 3 in the morning, when I finished it. But that's an entirely different post.

  1. Hunger Games, fantastic.
    Catching Fire, equally fantastic.
The fact that the third one isn't out yet, not so fantastic.

  2. Well, not equally fantastic. They're two totally different kinda books. Hunger Games is a story. A totally AWESOME story!!! but Catching Fire is... a movement. A plot. A... I dunno what the right word is. But it's much more multi-layered. It's not just an adventure tale anymore. It's not just "This is what happened". There's a suspense to it now. I.... what can I say? Umm...Lots. But I think I've rambled enough.

  3. 1. I was going to tell you that Catching Fire is even better but I guess you figured that out.

    2. I think it's funny that you called this "Random Crap" and it has pictures of toilets.

    3. Tell your mom not to ban me your from your blog for that observation. (*Waves "Hi!")

SERIOUSLY, people? What is the point of blogging if nobody comments? If you can't think of anything to say about the post, THEN JUST SAY "HI"!

Have a nice day.
