Monkey's Birthday Present

5 Good Things About Monkey:

1. He is very smart. He just started kindergarten (when he was still 4) and he could read fairly well before he got there. (and he's done a million other smart thing that I couldn't even begin to write down)
2. He loves to do all the things the big kids do, and he's good at doing it.
3. He is always there to make you feel better when you are sad.
4. He loves his family to death.
5. We love him to death DOUBLE THAT!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONKEY!!!!!!!!!!

School (even homeschool) make it very difficult to blog

Seriously, I don't really like this whole school-thingy. It's totally restricting my free time. But that's not what I'm blogging about, that's just my excuse for not blogging very much lately.
What I'm actually blogging about is Mutual last night.
It was really fun.
The end.
Hahahahahahaha!
We did newspaper this fashion show. We split up into three teams and each team had to make their model (who was another Young Woman) a modest prom dress out of newspaper and tape. It was super funny, even though our team lost.
We did this floor-length- dress with a really puffy skirt. We did the puff by folding and taping the paper at the top. The shirt was just a long piece on newspaper wrapped around our model's waist, but we made it modest with a piece of newspaper covering each shoulder.
We folded the back of the newspaper into a V shape (with pieces of newspaper behind to make it modest, of course) and put laces made out of tape going across the V. It was a lot of fun to make, even if our team didn't get 1st place. We got the "most creative" award.
They gave the "most creative" award to Scaffy at the Halloween party wheree he was Nightcrawler from the X-men.
My mom couldn't find a Nightcrawler costume, so she turned his pajamas inside out and made an X across them. And she gave him blue face paint all over. He though it as the greatest thing EVER! (I thought it was pretty cool, too, especially all the face paint)
The guy who gave out the award thought he was a smurf. Fortunately, that didn't bother Scaffy.

My dad figured out how to set up RockBand so that you can actually play the drums. It's a lot more fun now. We play it every night.

So last night was really fun, even if I did spend HOURS and HOURS writing a report on the War of the Roses (that I'm still not finished with)

Wish me luck on my choir audition! :)

No title

I really need to write some witty and very funny post to officially bring myself back to bloggy-land after my long vacation, but I can't think of anything. Hmm....

Well, today was the first day of school. Hallelujah (sarcasm intended).
Thelly, Scaffy, and Monkey are all in school, in 4th grade, 2nd grade, and kindergarten. I am in 8th. So for the first half of the day, Mom and I are the only ones in the house. It is SO quiet!
Mom made me start another blog where I can write down all the stuff I do at school, but I'm not gonna write down the URL, because it is really stupid and boring. Today I studied the structure of a water molecule and a oil molecule, and how come oil and water don't mix. It was a lot harder than it sounds. I also started learning Greek (I started learning Greek once before, but I wasn't very good at keeping up with it).

I dunno what to write. That is kinda a problem. Hmm...

I think I'll just write some of the stuff I did in Utah.

We had Thelly's and Monkey's B-day up there at this really cool family fun center. It had a water park with 4 different slides, so my cousins and I would race each other like, a million times. Literally, we did that for 2 hours, it was SO MUCH FUN!! Then we had pizza and cake and soda, and we went inside where they had the HUGE bounce houses, it was GREAT! There are these mushroom shaped ones and they're totally round so they are really hard to stay on and so of course all the kids have contests to get on top and stay on top while the other kids try to get on and/or knock you off. It's way fun!

Grandpa took us to this hunting gear shop with lots of taxidermy animals and fish. But the fish were alive :) That was fun.
We also had a girls night on Friday. that was fun, even though all my girl cousins are way younger than me. We went out to eat and we watched old movies and we ate Ho-ho's and we made lemonade. It was a lot of fun :)

Grandma also showed me 2 new authors that I really like. She is a middle school teacher, so she knows what girls my age like.

My dad bought Rock Band on sale for our Wii. My parent's think it is the greatest thing ever. I think it is stupid.

I have to go to bed now. Bye.
:(

I don't want to come up with a clever title for this, so.....

Guess what peoples? ( BTW, that's a real word according to spell check)
I am going home tomorrow! I am really looking forward to that. Hanging out with cousins is fun for a while, but after a week and a half you sorta start getting tired of each others company. And my cousins (being girls) can drag out a fight way longer than my brothers (being boys) so I'm not used to it. And I'm just sorta just ready to get back to normal life, you know? The only problem is that since school start the day after we get back, and I still don't have a schedule , so the chances of getting back to normal life are pretty much zero :( Oh well. I will be seeing my dad in about an hour and tomorrow I get to go to the Okirrh Mountain Temple Dedication (I know I spelled it wrong) and then later that day I get to see my mom, so that's all pretty good :) So there you have the ups and down of my life in the next 48 hours. Good night!

I'm a Mommy!

Ok.........please don't get all ' oooo......I'm gonna go tell her bishop' on me here. What I mean is I'm a BLOGGY mommy. :) I have inspired THREE (3) of my cousin's to start their own blogs. Here are the links, if you wanna follow them :
justinmanstories.blogspot.com
goldilocks2000.blogspot.com

I would post the third one but I don't actually know what it is yet. But I'm working on it!

Anyways.......... I was thinking today about how different people 'sound' on their blogs and in real life.
For example, any aunt Alison Wonderland seems (and this is just my opinion, and I mean no offense to her (or anyone else mentioned in this post for that matter)) way more funnier on her blog than in person. In real life she seems (and again, this is just my opinion) much more serious and Grown-Up (make of that-a compliment or not-what you will, Dear Auntie).
Except, of course at a birthday party the other day when she yelled at her siblings "WHY WOULD ONE SACRIFICE A PIE IN SUCH MANNER???!!!??!!! They were talking about hitting someone in the face with a pie (just in case you couldn't tell). My best friend, self-acclaimed
"Ultimate Pie Luvar" (and that is a quote) would totally agree.

I think I am also more quiet and reserved in real life, unless you really get to know me (and sometimes even then). I personally think I am way more funny and outgoing on my blog (and if I am incorrect in that thinking, please don't correct me. "Ignorance is Bliss" after all!)
I think maybe that is because I don't really know the people who read me blog that well (except for Mom, of course).

After all, if someone doesn't like my blog, all they have to do is stop reading it (and not tell me you don't like it, because just imagine what a terrible blow that would be to my fragile self-esteem, oh you poor dear......... (and also I would hunt you down and... well... be very mad at you...(yeah, that's it......))) and I will be none the wiser, because I can't figure out how to get my stat tracker to tell me the names of the people who are reading this blog.
BUT if I creep my Beehives class out in real life (as I'm sure I have on many occasions) I have to hang out with them for years (...and years and more years...oh dear...) and so I am a little more quiet and shy.

Or it could just be the usual explanation- that I am socially handicapped, and since blogging is virtual, my social handicap does not cover blogging.

A or B, folks.

Any way where was I....oh yes, blogger personalities....let's see....

My cousins (the ones I posted the links to) seem to be a lot more talkative and expressive in real life, especially Goldilocks (and again, I'm not trying to offend at all, if she's reading this).
On their respective blogs they are, well...short. That's not really a bad thing, but they
( just Goldilocks, actually, I don't think it's very fair to generalize JustinMan's because he's only posted, like, once) just seem to use short words and sentences and posts and stuff like that. Probably because she is a heck (excuse my french) of a lot younger than me.

So..................... in many fewer words, today I learned two (2) things....
1. That people might behave very differently in real life than their blogs might suggest.
2...... That I am VERY long-winded.

Happy Last Week Of Summer! :)

Thelly's birthday present

I have been messing around with my all my cousins for the last week, so I've kinda been to busy to blog. But with my mom and her sisters all warning me that I will lose all my readers unless I get back to my blog, and Thelly's B-Day tomorrow, I really do have to get around to updating my criminally neglected blog (Heehee, I like the sound of that). So..............

10 good things about Thelly:

1. He is very good at getting things clean.
2. He is always honest.
3. He isn't a follower.
4. He always lets you know when something is wrong.
5. He is never purposely mean to anyone, no matter how mean they are to him.
6. He tries very hard to be reverent in church.
7. He never lets what people think about him stop him from doing what he wants.
8. He is very good a sports.
9. He loves his family VERY much.
10. And we love him too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (tomorrow) THELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm blogging from a computer that is not my computer. It isn't even a mac. It isn't even in the same state as my computer! How COOL is that?!!

I like parenthesis

My mom surprised us younglings (Star Wars nerd, remember?) with a trip up to the mountains of Southern California to visit some friends from our old ward.
And let this stand FOREVER as a record of my maturity that I did not pitch a fit about going away with no warning {If I didn't have a social handicap, I might've had plans, right?} ).
It is SOOOOO pretty up there! and we went to the beach and nobody drowned (and that is no mean feat when your take 3 kids under the the age of 5, and 2 7-year olds, and 2 9-year-olds, and me to the beach) and I boogie-boarded like heck (excuse my french) and so did one of the 7-yrs and 1 of the 9-yrs. It was a lot of fun. And I read New Moon AND Eclipse (I'll do the book reviews, don't worry, Mom) in the many hours it took to get there and back (my dad drives under the speed limit. GGAAAHHHH!!!!).
And so we came home on Sunday afternoon and we are leaving tomorrow to visit my mom's family in Utah. And a week after that we're going to a family reunion with that same side of the family (Maybe my mom has developed the reverse of leaving-the-house-phobia).

So now you know why I'm not gonna be posting very much (if at all, my grandma has a computer but it's ANCIENT) over the next 2 weeks.

In loving memory.....

Our dear fish, Georgie passed away quietly ::sniff:: (with a lot of jostling of his tank from my brothers trying to get him to move again, actually) on Tuesday afternoon. He was 1 1/2 years old. ::sniff:: Georgie's body was laid to rest in the toilet yesterday morning. ::sniff, sniff:: May he Rest In Peace in that great fish bowl in the sky. ::sniffle::

At least Georgie died in the water. When I was about 3 I took my fishy (Strawberry) out of the water 'cuz he wasn't swimming and went and showed him to my mom. That was the last time we had a fishy until a year and a half ago.

And we're NOT getting a replacement Georgie.

Questions

I'm a little upset. Like, 60 people viewed my blog yesterday and the only one who commented was my mom. ::sniff, sniff::
So today I am gonna ask a question, so you have to comment:

What is your favorite book?
movie?
board game?

Is anyone here?

Hello? HELLO?

(crickets chirping)

Just me, then.
My favorite book of all time, I couldn't narrow it down to 1, but Harry Potter, Eragon, and Peter and the Starcatchers are definitely the top 3 series.
Favorite movie.......Star Wars. Episode 2. Duh.
Favorite board game........who has a favorite board game? I don't. I guess if I had to pick one, I would pick Sorry, but I'm not really into board games since the only people to play with are my brothers, and they throw a tantrum when they lose.

Now it's your turn.....

The 13th Reality

Tick (a nickname) Higginbotttom (I didn't make it up, the author did, blame him) starts receiving mysterious letters one quiet September from a mysterious Master George (do you get that it's a mystery yet?), who wants Tick's help saving the universe, (and the other 12 versions of it) from the evil, yellow-loving Mistress Jane.
Tick has to put together 12 clues to discover how to actually meet Master George and receive further instructions from him. Along the way he meets Mothball (a very friendly, 8-foot tall woman from the 5th reality), Rutger (from the 11th Reality, he is short, round, and Mothball's best friend), Sofia and Paul (an Italian girl and American boy to whom master George has also sent pleas for help), and Norbert Johnson (the Alaskan postmaster who originally sent Master George's letters).
Once Tick, Sofia, and Paul arrive at Master George's secret Headquarters (in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle) he explains that there is not 1, but 13 versions of the universe and that people of various genetic (and other) differences live in all of them. Mistress Jane is plotting to destroy the realities and rebuild them according to her own preferences.
Master George sends Tick, Sofia, Paul, Mothball, and Sato (another boy to whom Master George sent his letters) to steal Mistress Jane's source of power and trap her in the 13th Reality.

Gee, what a cliffhanger..........

THE Twilight book review.

Read the book before you read this post. That is the closest I will come to a Spoiler Warning.
It just wouldn't feel right if I didn't put a picture.

I can't think of a way to dramatize this up a whole lot so ......... I liked it.

I don't think anyone but my best friends (and possibly my mom) can truly understand what an extraordinary statement that is. I spent at LEAST a year refusing to read Twilight because I thought it was to popular and romantic to be any good. But I read it and I liked it.
I didn't really like the romantic-y parts (they touch each other to much)(it's like this love potion in Harry Potter that actually only creates a powerful obsession insted of real love) (WOW, I am such a nerd, using Harry Potter to make an analogy). It starts out like Edward is all mad at Bella and she is scared of him and then she is suddenly all like 'oooh.... He's mysterious and handsome and perfect' when there is NO romantic interest before that and it makes me want to GAG. And then a little while after that Bella is saying that he is like the center of her life. UGH!
And, everything else aside, it's just creepy to be going out with someone who wants to kill you.
Just.
Plain.
CREEPY!

And I don't really like all the stuff about his moods changing super fast so this second he's angry and then he's all soft and tender and then he's teasing and then he's serious. ARRGH! I just don't see anything desirable in his character. He's creepy. That's it.
And it's really just odd that he sparkles. That's just weird.

BUT

I like learning about his family and their history and their pasts and his history. Edward himself is creepy, but I like his family, especially Carlisle and Esme. Those names are just weird, though.
(Totally random: I'm writing Weird and Creepy way to much)

I really liked the end, though. THAT'S the kinda book I like; the mystery and the action and the bloodshed. Not all the romance-y stuff (actually I do like the romance-y stuff in Star Wars and other places, just not to the absurd degree the romance-y-ness is taken to in Twilight. Confused yet?)
So I liked the end and I liked the history of the family; I just didn't like the absurd-ness of the romance.

The End

Blinkee
